Hatchery Announces Plans to Reopen in New Dongsi Location
By Justine Lopez
It seems like only yesterday that we heard the news that Hatchery was closing its doors. We were really surprised to hear about its sudden closure, and today we were equally as surprised to hear that, just one month later, Hatchery is already coming back.
No, the team won’t be returning to their previous Sanlitun location. They officially announced yesterday that they’ll be moving onward and upward to a new “bigger and better” location in Dongsi.
There was a lot of mystery surrounding the restaurant's abrupt closure on August 13. But as they said back then “The Hatchery team will continue to develop our proprietary incubation platform and have more news coming in the near future of where we’ll be popping up next!”
Well, the team has clearly been working ferverishly during the past month to open a new space. Hatchery has partnered up with 5Lmeet – a new lifestyle hub in the hutongs – and will be housed on the first floor of their brand new space.
As the Hatchery team puts it, “expect slick new hutong digs and an even better Hatchery dining experience."
The new and improved Hatchery will be located within walking distance of the Zhangzizhong Lu subway station and will be able to accommodate up to 80 people.
We’re not exactly sure when Hatchery Dongsi will open its doors, but they assure us it will be soon. We’ll update you as we learn more.
